Breaking down concepts of ragas and tala. Raga & Tala gives a solid foundation to the children on the fundamentals of some basic features of classical ragas and talas. Children learn new songs, clapping games and travel through a journey in Raga land and on the way getting familiar with the different families of ragas and their relatives- the talas. Through listening activities, stories, songs, simple pieces (sargam) and games, children will start relating to the fundamentals of Indian classical music and gradually start appreciating the beauty and relevance of the music. This unit stands at the core of the Sangeet4All program.
